Key Words:
• We, us or our means BACKWORKS Limited. We are registered in England and Wales under company number: 14960788.
• Therapist means the person who is carrying out the massage/treatment.
• You or your means the person whom the massage (referred to as the ‘treatment’) relates to.
Payments:
Payment is taken following treatments.
Payment for gift cards is taken at point of purchase.
Only card payments are accepted.
Gift Cards:
We operate a strict 12 month redemption period. All BACKWORKS gift vouchers must be redeemed within 12 months of purchase. We are unable to redeem or extend expired vouchers. Full T&Cs are applied for all treatments which are redeemed using a physical gift voucher or e-voucher.
A single voucher cannot be redeemed across multiple appointments.
Gift cards and e-vouchers are sold at the advertised prices for our back massage treatments. If a gift card or e-voucher is redeemed for a foot massage treatment, any difference in cost must be paid at the time of use. Treatments may also be upgraded beyond the time or value stated on the gift card or e-voucher, with the additional cost charged accordingly.
Packages:
Packages consist of five seated massage treatments purchased in advance at a discounted rate.
Full payment is required at the time of purchase.
Packages are valid for 3 months from the date of purchase. Any unused treatments will expire after this period.
Treatments included in a package cannot be divided or split into shorter sessions.
Appointments can be booked online and redeemed using your package.
Walk-in appointments are welcome, subject to therapist availability.
Packages are non-refundable, non-transferable, and cannot be exchanged for cash.
Missed appointments or cancellations made with insufficient notice may result in the treatment being deducted from your package in accordance with our cancellation policy.
BACKWORKS reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time.
Cancellation / No shows:
We are a walk in service, appointments in store are not required.
If appointments are made online there is a strict cancellation policy. Appointments can be cancelled up to 24 hours before the start time at no cost. If appointments are cancelled within 24 hours of the appointment time, 50% of the payment will be taken. No shows will be charged 100% of the payment.
Loyalty Cards
Loyalty cards are available at BACKWORKS. Each treatment entitles the card holder to one stamp. On the 10th treatment the card holder is entitled to 30% off any length of chair massage treatment. The loyalty card discount does not apply to any other treatment other than chair massage, products or gift vouchers.
The loyalty card has no cash value and cannot be exchanged for cash.
Lost or stolen loyalty cards will only be replaced at the managers discretion.
Clients who still hold the loyalty card which offers 50% off the 8th treatment are still valid so long as the loyalty card is presented at point of payment. Once a full or a replacement loyalty card is needed then the new card which offers 30% off the 10th treatment will be offered.
Promotions
From time to time BACKWORKS will run different promotions. T&Cs may vary for each promotion. They will be published with each individual promotion.
During Mental Health week 2026 We are offering 15% off 45 minute seated massage treatments. This offer is valid Monday 11th May - Friday 15th May only, exclusively for online bookings only. Use code TREAT15 This offer cannot be redeemed instore or split over different treatments. Cannot be used with any other promotion or discount. Can only be used once per person.
Local Flyer Promotion – Local promotional flyers have been issued within the Angel, Islington area. Each flyer provides the holder with £5 off any treatment available at the Camden Passage Studio. Redemption is available online or in person, using the code displayed on the flyer. Offer valid until 31 August 2026. One-time use per flyer. No cash alternative. Flyers are non‑replaceable and non‑transferable.
Gratuity
100% of tips go directly to your therapist.
Therapist Preference:
Clients can request a specific therapist on arrival, dependent on availability.
BACKWORKS will automatically assign a therapist based on availability if no selection is made, regardless of gender.
Walk-in Service Policy
Backworks operates as a walk-in massage service, and we aim to accommodate all clients efficiently and fairly. To ensure a smooth experience for all, the following policies apply:
1.Walk-ins During Treatment:
If a client walks in while a treatment is in progress, they will be informed of the next available session, e.g., “The next treatment is in 15 minutes.”
2. Waiting Area:
Clients are welcome to wait on the sofa if they wish to secure the next available treatment.
3. Walk-out & Return Policy:
If a client chooses to leave and return later, they will be informed that, as a walk-in service, we cannot guarantee availability. To secure their place, they are encouraged to wait inside.
4. Payment & Holding the Next Available Treatment:
Where applicable (e.g. front of house or therapist is available), clients may be given the option to pay in advance to secure the next available treatment and return at that designated time.
We only offer payment in advance to secure the next available treatment, and not at requested times.
BACKWORKS reserves the right to adjust these policies as necessary to ensure an efficient and enjoyable experience for all clients.
Last treatment time:
The last treatment each day will be carried out 15 minutes prior to closing time, minimum of a 15 minute treatment, dependent on therapist availability.
Pregnancy:
At BACKWORKS , we are pleased to offer massage treatments for clients who are pregnant and past their first trimester (12 weeks and beyond). To ensure the comfort and safety of both parent and baby, the following terms and conditions apply to our pregnancy massage services:
Eligibility
We offer massage to clients who are beyond the first trimester of pregnancy (12+ weeks).
We do not provide massage during the first trimester under any circumstances.
Clients must disclose when asked if they are pregnant before the session begins.
Availability
Pregnancy massage is subject to therapist availability on the day. We cannot guarantee a pregnancy-trained therapist will be available at all times.
Pressure and Technique
Only light to moderate pressure will be used during pregnancy massages.
Deep tissue work, trigger point therapy, and intense pressure techniques are not available during pregnancy.
Our therapists will avoid specific pressure points known to be contraindicated during pregnancy.
Client Responsibility
Clients must disclose any complications, high-risk pregnancy conditions, or other relevant medical history prior to treatment.
If in doubt, we recommend that clients consult with their healthcare provider before receiving a massage.
Treatment Adaptations
Our massage chairs will be adapted to suit the client’s comfort, including suitable positioning and supportive props.
Our therapists will ensure the experience is relaxing, safe, and tailored to each individual.
Foot massage at BACKWORKS isn't currently offered to pregnant clients.
Right to Refuse Treatments. BACKWORKS reserves the right to decline or postpone treatment if we believe it is unsafe or if a suitable therapist is not available at the time.
By receiving a massage at BACKWORKS while pregnant, you confirm that you understand and accept these terms and conditions.
Health Conditions:
All health conditions and any medication must be disclosed prior to the treatment.
Your therapist must be informed of any health conditions to the best of a client’s knowledge. Please contact info@backworks.london once you've spoken to your doctor and/or physiotherapist about the ongoing medical issue or injury. Prior to your treatment, your Bodyworker will ask you to complete a short verbal medical screening where you can discuss and detail any injuries/conditions.
Age Policy:
BACKWORKS will only allow treatments on any person under the age of 16 with a parent or carer present. Treatments on a person under the age of 16 will also be at the discretion of individual therapist.
BACKWORKS reserves the right to terminate any treatment if we believe it is inappropriate for any reason for us to provide treatment, including the behaviour of a minor.
Accessibility:
Our Studio at 33 Camden Passage has a single step at the door. There is a customer toilet located in the basement, accessed by stairs.
Etiquette:
We ask that clients do not use mobile phones during treatments.
BACKWORKS and our therapist are not responsible for the loss or damage of personal items during client’s visit to the studio.
BACKSWORKS and our therapist reserve the right to refuse treatment to any client who is physically or verbally abusive towards any of our staff- including but not limited to any inappropriate, aggressive or sexual behaviour.
We reserve the right to refuse treatment to any client who is intoxicated or believed to be under the influence of non-medicated drugs.
Individual therapists reserve the right to refuse to perform treatments, at any point in accordance with their professional code of conduct and duty of care.
Insurance:
BACKWORKS holds public liability insurance. All therapist hold an acupressure/seated massage qualification.
All therapist are fully insured and a member of a regulatory body (such as CTha)
After your treatment
Clients preferred pressure preference during the treatment can occasionally leave your muscles feeling slightly achy or fatigued, since it penetrates the uppermost layers. On rare occasions you may even be a little bruised which is generally nothing to worry about, but if the problem persists after 48 hours please don't hesitate to give us a call. Other and more common side effects will include deep inner peace, feeling taller and sleeping deeply.
We highly recommend take an Epsom Salt bath post massage, as well as taking it easy and getting an early night. You can also talk to your therapist on the day about other things you can do to extend the benefits of a treatment at BACKWORKS.
How often should I have a massage
There is no such thing as too much massage!
Most commonly we recommend a monthly massage as a body MOT, but we highly encourage a weekly or fortnightly session if you can, or if there is an on-going issue.
Product returns
We believe strongly in our products and their quality, but if for any reason you are not satisfied, you can return items for a full refund or exchange within 30 days of the date of purchase with your receipt. We ask that products are returned unused and in the original packaging.
Refunds can only be credited to the method of payment used to buy the product.
